Rahul Dravid may step down as India’s head coach and be replaced by Justin Langer.

Justin Langer, the head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants and a former Australia opener, is “curious” about being involved with the Indian cricket team. After the dafabet World Cup, Rahul Dravid, the current coach, will step down from his position. The identical post was announced by the BCCI on Monday night.

In response to TOI’s question about whether he wished to apply for the job, Langer answered, “Well, I am curious.” I’ve never really thought about it. I am aware of the challenges experienced by international coaches, but I still have the highest regard for those that have such a role. But it would be a huge undertaking to lead the Indian squad. Based on what I’ve seen about the kind of talent in this country, I think it would be fascinating,” he said.

The BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, has previously stated that Dravid planned to continue leading the Indian team. Shah stated that rummy all app will have to submit an application and go through the selection process like any other contender. Even now, it doesn’t seem plausible. Dravid wasn’t in the mindset to continue when his contract expired after the ODI World Cup last year. The T20 World Cup was just seven or eight months away, and he and his whole support crew were given an extension.

Shah recommended that we bring in a foreign coach as well. The final foreign coach to work with Indian cricket players was Duncan Fletcher. After he departed in 2014, India was coached by three full-time former players: Rahul Dravid, Ravi Shastri, and Anil Kumble.

Langer is a great pick to serve as India’s head coach.

I’d be curious to discover whether they go back to an international coach after almost ten years. If Ashok Malhotra, Sulakshana Naik, and Jatin Paranjape—the Cricket Advisory Committee—decide to go that route, Langer could be the best option.

Langer leaves something of a legacy with his 105 Test record and an average of 45 runs scored each game. Furthermore, he has been the Australian squad’s effective leader for nearly four years, and he was a major factor in the sport’s resurgence in the wake of Sandpapergate in 2018. Australia won their first-ever T20 World Cup in 2021 under his direction.
